there was a thread a while back, i think i started it, but a forum member had commented on how much he enjoyed riding his bike (as in bicycle) at nite under the stars, and recently i've taken to doing such myself, and it really is quite thrilling and different (of course) than during the day with all the traffic; whipping past the late-nite party-ers, over-hearing the drunken revelry, the street lites feebly glowing off the pavement and cement, swerving head-lites, i am alive in the moment and glad to be alive...

I remember that post too - the guy was talking about how much be loved the 2/28/69 dark star and how it frequently accompanied him on those nighttime cycling excursions...

Hey Arb! Outstanding! Of course, you and Ian know I can't get around on a bike anymore, BUT it used to be one of my fav activities (next to bball, of course)...loved working on it too--sort of like Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, if you follow. I was always tinkering with it, but the riding was still the main thing. Had a couple of old English brand, Dawes, I believe. a Realm Rider and a Galaxy with sewups, etc.

Do they still use sewups for racing? We rode just before the big rage in all the special clothes--and to be honest, I am not sure I can picture you in skin tight shorts and shirt with a spare tube on your back.

But, if that's you, go for it!

ah yes, i did know of your former biking fervor; i tinker with the bike every now and again, but i'm actually at the point where i'm looking for something new; as for the wardrobe, nothing skintight for me, think more along the lines of messenger...
